Christmas
On Christmas we have to open our presents. When my Mum and Dad are awake they tell
us whose present is whose.Last year my brother and I got mp3 players but my sister got a bike. Unfortunately our mp3 players didn't didn’t work. We were looking at them and we saw a little button it said restart. We pushed it and then it kept working. This Christmas I would like something cool.
At Christmas time I sometimes see people singing on the side of the road. They are singing Christmas songs.

Immersion Assembly
On our first day back at school for Term 4 we had an Immersion Assembly. An Immersion Assembly is where we found out what is our topic. When we first went into the hall I didn’t know what we were doing for our topic.But as soon as we got to sit down Mr J said out loud, “Huston we have a problem!!!” Suddenly on the screen it said Outta This World. Mr Burt came and he was walking up to show us the picture and tell us we are learning about space..
Later on the small Mr J showed us how close we were to the sun. There are 2 planets in front and we are the 3rd closest.
With a big voice Mr Burt said to us it was time for Team 1.Team 1 showed us a movie.
It was about the sun. They lost the sun and they tried to make their own sun. They all were looking everywhere for the sun but they didn't find it because all of them were inside looking for it. Then they went out side and found it.
Next it was Team 2’s turn. For their turn they were doing a dance with boxes on their head that had
lights on them. When they started to dance everyone started laughing but it looked like fun. I would have liked to have danced up front too. Later they stepped on the top step then they finished and they sat down.
After it was Team 3 showing us how to eat up in space. They just took all the water out of the food
so it wont go old. If you want to eat it you can put water in it. It showed us what food we are allowed to take up in space and showed us how to go poo in space. There is a seat belt that will hold you down.
Later it was team 4’s item. It was funny as they were or dressed as ballerinas. Mr Marks had a wig on and a moustache and a tutu. Most of the teachers were laughing at them because of how they looked. Mr S was singing a song but he was not singing for real and he could keep time with it. They took turns finishing it off.
Then it was Team 5’s turn. They had a movie. It was Star Wars. Mr Barks had put all of the teachers faces onto the real actors faces on the play. It look so funny that I was laughing.
I think I will enjoy learning about space this term.

Christchurch earthquake
Yesterday at 12:15pm an earthquake hit Christchurch.This is the 2ND enormous earthquake there in less then 6 months.The earthquake measured 6.3.Its epicentre was at lyttlton.
Many mall months. earthquake have bee big all not some have bee going along at night.little after shocks have bee making dust. One hug earthquake did a lot of damage to bus homes and cars. dads and mums try to get back to there love ones sorry about the kids how did go to school.
Skateboarding is a extreme sport for our body as you get older you get good at it and you get good at style. Skateboarding today a form of recreation and sport.Professional skateboards can make money from skateboarding .They can
enter a range of competitions. In vertical skating competitions they do flips,turns and twists on a vert ramp.In street style
competitions they skate on stairs,rail,ledges and obstacles.
In the rugby world cup there is 20 team playing for the William Webb Ellis cup.Every four years the world cup is been played South Africa as the William Webb Ellis got the cup the all black had the rugby world cup now South Africa.

CROSS country
On Wednesday we had cross country I was racing with the 10 year old boy it look like a long run.
We started the race at 1pm we had to have a shot lunch time so all of us can get a turn.When we started
the little kids had to go first.
After all of the little kids it would be the 11year old boys turn they went first to run out of all of the
year 5,6 and 7 but we had to wait for Mr Burnt to come.Mr Burnt couldn't come because he had to do the little kids race.We went down to the reserve and we were waiting there setting down on the grass playing games.When Mr burnt came he told the 11year old boys to stand up It look like a long run because how we walk around.After the 11 year old boys ran off it was our turn to go the girl were about to go after them but they did go.Then he said to as get up and he took as to start line when we got there he said to as get Your marks get set Go!!!!! I ran as fast as I can but as I was running I ran with Lorenzo.when I ran I said to him “come Lorenzo lets run together” We were running to the front so we were not at the back we all want to come first or second or third.When we
ran we started to sprinted to the front of the pack.I was coming fourth and Lorenzo was coming first I was trying my best to keep up with them running the cow were smelly but I try to not to stop I need some water as I was running the people how were helping with cross country.As I ran past them they were spurting me to not give up.

Saving hump back whale
Whale researcher, Michael Fishbach and his family motored out over the glassy water of the Sea of Cortez in their small runabout. They were out making whale observations, unaware that soon they would help save the life of one of the world’s most magnificent creatures, a humpback whale.
As they approached the whale there were no signs of life . It looked close to death. But suddenly it forcefully exhaled, sending spray flying. It was still alive.
As they went toward it they saw there was a net on the side of it. It was tangled in the net.
They were trying to take the net off. It was afraid of them It was hard because it kept moving around so Michael jumped in the water and try see what was wrong with her when he went toward it he saw what was wrong and there was a net he try get it off but it pushed him away.
Later on they pulled some of the net off and there was one fin free and they try to cut it but it wouldn’t cut.
They just had one small knife then some more net came off and two of the fins were free.
And it took them fora ride for half hour next it came up from under them and they got all the net they can get and cut it and got free and it was showing them thanks for joy it was jumping up in the air showed that it was happy.

Rugby World Cup
In the rugby world cup there are 20 teams playing for the William Webb Ellis cup. Every four years the world cup has been played. The first Rugby World Cup was played in NZ in 1987.
South Africa has got the William Webb Ellis cup now.
Richard Kauai was the only one who got a try out of every one in the All Black now he is at the finals.
The rugby world cup was name after William Webb Ellis because he was the fist to run with the ball and got a try.
If you want to be a champion and play for the All Blacks you will have to strive to succeed and practice team work.Team work is when you work together with your team and pass the ball down then the winger will get a run away try.

Badminton

When we went to badminton it was on Thursday. I went with my class room. We walked to the hall to learn how to play badminton so we can play when we get older. There was a woman called Lorene who showed us how to hold the racket. There was a back hand grip and a forehand grip.
On the the first day she instructed us to get a racket? The girls went first then the boys. Most of the boys got a little racket.Next we got a shuttle. She said, "Get a partner." My partner was Isara and Lorene's partner was Logan. She show us our to hit the shuttle but Logan kept on hitting it out. Isara and I were having fun. It was funny when he hit it and I tried to hit it back to him. The longest I could hit it back was 12 times. If we had to stop she would shout out,Shuttle!"
The next time we did badminton one of her friends Donna came and showed us how to hit it too but she came with two nets so we could play a game. The boys were with one net while the girls were with the other. We had to hit it over the net. It had to go past the line.
For our last game Lorene said to us to get in a line. She served the shuttle to us then we had to hit it one time before it hit the ground. As soon as we hit it we had run to the back of the line so the next person could hit it. If you missed it you lost your racket. At the end it was only just my racket left.
I enjoyed badminton and the lessons she gave us. It was fun learning lots of new games and skills.

Rugby Ball
In the late 1800’s people used a raw pigs bladder for a ball. A bladder is a body part of a pig that holds the pig's urine. The oval shaped balls were different sizes depending on the size of the pig. As the ball got smelly they would get a new one.
Some people used it for playing game called Big side. There was no running with the ball. Big side is a game when you can not move you just get the ball when it is up in the air. When you get it in the air you can kick the ball under the goal. It would have been hard because all of the opposition would be under the goal.
One day William Webb Ellis got the ball and sprinted with the ball and got a try and then he called the game rugby. In 1871 they made the goal taller so when they kicked it over the goal you can see it.

Term 3 Immersion Assembly
When our class walked in to the hall for our Immersion Assembly I saw Mr J was dress up in some funny clothers he had a wig on his hard the wig was green and his face had paint on it when I walk in
Assembly Mr J was cheering I didn't know what he was saying.Then Mr Burt stayed to give out ticks so when they where look at them part.Then Mr Burt helps went to go get the food at the back of the stage.

Motat
Guess what I did last Wednesday? I went to Motat. I went on the bus with my class 14 and room 13. We had a lot of fun. We went because our topic fits. We got on the bus then when we got there we got out of the bus and we went in to a room with one of the leaders then we had morning tea.
Next room 13 went with the teacher and we had to wait then we went to tactile dome.When we went to tactile dome we saw lots of fun things around us. When we were at tactile dome some man came out of the door he was talking about tactile dome. Jonita and 3 more girls went then it was me and Esrah. Two boys and I went in. It was dark in the tactile dome. When we got in there we were singing a song. It was hard we were trying to get out we were walking then we fell down. We got back up we were using our hands to feel where we were going. Then we were going up hill, then we saw the side. We went down the side then we got out of the tactile dome and it was the next person's turn.

Youth Pride
In my holiday guess what I did? I went to youth pride. Sometimes I walked there. I saw Esrah and Isara there. I went with my two brothers. When I got there we had to do some runs. We played cool games there, we played dodge ball. We had four team. Some times we had lunch there. It was yum. We had a lot of fun. We had a cool day on Friday when we had a lot of lunch there. Guess what I did last week? We went to the swimming pools with room 14 room 16. When it was our time to go swimming we went to get our swimming bag with our togs then we lined up at the door. We walked to the Glen Innes pools with rm 16. When we walked there I started to become hot.
As soon as we got inside we went to get on our swimming clothes . Next we had to sit on the chair before we jumped inside the pool. Some people had to jump out of the pool because they were playing in the pool. Some people went in the other pool with lanes.

Rollerblading
At camp when we first got to rollerblade land I got on my rollerblading. Then I ZOOMED past people fast. As I went past people I was about to fall down on the ground.We were playing with a big ball but people keep falling down. I don't like falling down on the ground. The museum
Guess what I did on New Year's Day? I went to the museum. We got in for free because the lady said "If you live in Auckland you can go in for free". I liked the aquarium when we walked on it. We saw long guns as well. We looked around. Later on we went to the volcano room. We saw a big mirror. I didn't know what it was doing. It looked cool. I saw a big fist. Then we came to a house we went inside and we watched a movie. it was cool. After that I went home.
